Swimmers swamped A rather disappointing season, O-IO, was recorded by a small swim squad. Future meets look brighter, however, as the whole team will be returning, except for seniors Marlene Brookhart and Debbie Brenchley. The team rarely could enter more than 15 girls in competition. As Coach Harmel- ing ruefully remarked, l guess it's still building. Go Cougars! chanted team members Inga Talbott, Katie Dent, Jenny Bollinger, and Jenny Saylor. Coaches Ron Wayman, Russ Quackenbush, and Gene Girdley pushed for- ward, but injuries interfered. A tough BHS vs IHS game went into overtime, but was sadly lost 19 to 21. The Jay-Vees Enthusiasm and determina- tion kept the JV football team going. Fun wasn't their only gain, but lots of experience also. The team's win-loss records flexed more up than down this year.
