Zeph rus -A Fresh Breeze From The West This year Bothell High's school newspaper changed its name from the Cougar to the Zephyrus amid a storm of protest. The paper and its staff weathered the storm, however, to give Bothell High many thought-provoking editorials and the latest news. They also sponsored a successful sock-hop after the O'Dea basketball game and a spring sock hop. Paper staff was headed by Editor Randi Petraitis and Assistant Editors Joan Sundberg and Jackie Lay. Sports Editor Brian Speakes headed his department, with Jerry Hicklin, assistant sports editor, and Vicki Grimnes, girls' sports. Special features included Bob Hover, artist, Harlan Moyer, feature editor, Mike Walters and Mary Jane Sarbaugh, exchange editors, Penny Mack, programs, and Patsy O'Brien, fashions. Teddi Smith was copy editor 2nd semester. Reporters were Roxanne Botz, Dave Clevenger, Penny Mack, Kitty Marihugh, Patsy O'Brien, Tracy Owen, and Mike Walters. Staff photographers were Mike Ridlon, chief, Mark Denison, John Jarolimek, and Darrell Hanson. The business staff was headed by Gary Lyshol, business manager and Bruce Cress- well, advertising manager, assisted by Larry Nesheim and Kitty Marihugh. The advisor was Mrs. Wallis who worked hard teaching as well as advising the class. Reporters, And . The small staff necessitated dou- bling in brass for most iobs. Kitty Marihugh acted as clerk for the Business Staff, Tracy Owen wrote editorials, Roxane Botz was Club Editor, and Patsy O'Brien, Fashions. The business staff kept hus- tling to meet the S80-S90 per issue staff share of publishing Chalf is paid by the District- none is ASBJ Ads, dances, pro- grams, all served to provide BHS with an independent school paper. Larry Nesheim, Bruce Cresswell and Gary Ly- shol handled this. Mike Ridlon, left, not only served as Dark Room chief, but managed to keep the can- tankerous press running for odd-job printing. Assistant photographers were Mark Denison, John Jarolimek and Darrell Hansen. ' 87
