PAPER DEADLINES POSE PROBLEM FOR SCHOOL DAZE STAFF Nine times during the school year, the paper staff and its sponsor publish a mim- eographed school paper and distribute it to approximately 150 students and school patrons. The work on this newspaper is carried on in the advanced typing class and the knowledge these students are gain- ing is invaluable to them as future office workers. Some of these learning outcomes are those that are realized merely by participation in the project itself; other outcomes must be developed and helped along by the teacher or sponsor. Through this type of work students are encouraged to work together cooperatively, are given a brief introduction to journalism, secure practical typewriting and duplicating experience and usually develop an appreci- ation of the amount of work involved in what, at first, seems to be a simple enter- prize.
