PAPER DEADLINES POSE PROBLEM FOR SCHOOL DAZE STAFF Nine times during the school year, the paper staff and its sponsor publish a mim- eographed school paper and distribute it to approximately 150 students and school patrons. The work on this newspaper is carried on in the advanced typing class and the knowledge these students are gain- ing is invaluable to them as future office workers. Some of these learning outcomes are those that are realized merely by participation in the project itself; other outcomes must be developed and helped along by the teacher or sponsor. Through this type of work students are encouraged to work together cooperatively, are given a brief introduction to journalism, secure practical typewriting and duplicating experience and usually develop an appreci- ation of the amount of work involved in what, at first, seems to be a simple enter- prize. AND FRENCH CLUBSH B.H.S. French students organized a French Club in November for the purpose of giving further study to French customs and tradi- tions. They are hoping they will find French Pen Pals who will keep them posted on situa- tions existing in France. The added advantage of a tape recorder and tapes aided greatly their study of French language and culture. A field trip to a French restaurant in Chicago and plans for attending a French play were included in the club's plans.
