BOSWELL REPRESENTATIVES IN GOVERNMENT Dave Dimmich and Dave Brost, Hoosier Boys' State delegate and alternate res- pectively, pause to comment on a bulle- tin board in Mr. Winkelpleck'a room that pertains to government and elections. Gaining knowledge in these areas is the primary purpose for Boys' State. Boswell was represented at Girls' State by Kay Finley. The convention was held on the Indiana University campus which afforded delegates a glimpse of college life along with politics. School winners of the Voice of Democracy speech contest sponsored by the V.F.V., are Vivian Buchanan, seoond; Dave Din- nich, first; Jill Fletcher, third) Dave was also a fifth place winner among the contestants from other schools in the corporation. 14

FRIENDS,ROMANS, COUNTRYMEN- LENDMEYOUR EARS Boswell juniors, seniors, and faculty who lent an ear to an invitation to a Roman Holiday, banqueted Roman style in a beauti- fully transformed Roman Amphitheater, May 11, 1964. White pillars adorned with golden clusters of grapes and laurel greenery made a fitting background for freshman and sophomore girls bearing Roman delicacies. They were clad in white Roman togas and wore golden head bands. A three-tier Roman fountain, spot- lighted in the center of the dining-dancing area lent authenticity to Linda Anstett's vocal selection Three Coins in a Fountain. Dancing followed the banquet with elected Queen Sandy Dalton and eaoort Max Gretencord, 1963 Queen Diana Leak and escort Dale Ander- son leading the Grand March.
