NEW LOCATION DEMANDS MORE ASSISTANTS The new study-hall location necessitated a library assistant for every period of the school day. Use of library cards, checking the amount of time spent in the library and the type of reading being done has been an improvement over the former signed class pass. Boswell's library assistants are members of JELA and with their librarian, Mrs. Olive Kopka, attended the annual student assistants' convention at Purdue in November. Over one thousand student librarians were in atten- dance. The library files are really beginning to pay off as term paper sources —many teachers bring their classes to the new library. MENTS AID ART INSTRUCTIONS Mrs. Slater and her children pose with the type of furniture found in grade rooms one through three. Construction of a new classroom in the west part of the study hall, and moving of the library to the study area in the east end of the study hall, provided a new math area. The room previously used for math on the second floor became the art center. With the return of art to our curriculum, much hidden talent was uncovered. lew furniture for the first, seoond, and third grade rooms completed the improve- ments. Gary Stone, Kris Kramer, and Philip Goodwine prepare puppets which were displayed at the annual Open House. A portion of the study hall showing library and study areas. 7
