300 BOSWELL ITES ALL WITH THE SAME GOAL TO WORK - TO STRIVE - TO SUCCEED This school year has been eventful and colorful at home and abroad. We waited anxiously for the arrival of Queen Elizabeth and her handsome husband, Prince Phillip. The conflict in Tunisa and South America alerted the entire world, and the Civil Rights issue was bubbling in Little Rock, Arkansas. The largest epidemic of influenza in many years spread around the world this fall given the name Asian flu. The first dose of vaccine was made possible only 82 days after the virus became available—a remarkable achievement. A satellite broke the gravity bearer and sailed into space. The excitement at school was terrific, but U.S. tried after the first failure and succeeded in sending Explorer I 600 miles higher than Russia's Sputnik. The Milwaukee braves won the World Series, rock h roll and the stroll stormed the music world and tne 1920 look appeared in fashions. Our teen-age world revolved about our home, church, and school. But like the rest of the country we were interested in hi-fi, T.V. spectaculars, best-sellers, flu shots, and the new sports car. We enjoyed class-room discussions and extra curriccular activities and followed the Hoosier craze for basketball. Yes, we three-hundred Boswellites had a lot 6f fun this year, but beneath the gay exterior of fads and trends, we realized that we all had one common goal for the betterment of ourselves and our changing world—to work, to strive, to succeed. Here to remind us of the class hours, and school activi- ties that made this year eventful for us, is the 1958, ECHOES.
