A l sf l I A s Sophomore Class History The well known maxim As ye start so shall ye end will be proved definitely false by the class of ,3l, or perhaps, since we feel ourselves to be exceptions in so many ways, we are the exception that proves the rule. Since the class of '30 who greeted us as Freshmen were working under an inferiority complex we made our first gesture as Frosh by allowing them to defeat us at the F reshman-Sophomore Field Day October 27. But virtue must ever be its own rewardf-As a symbol of our first indiscretion we had to wear, until Thanks- giving, a most unusual shade of neckwear--egreenf-a symbol not of freshness but of innocence! VVith our predecessors as guides it was conceded that by Thanksgiving they had outgrown their usefulness-fthe ties and the guides! Thus though we began our career with defeat not so shall it end! Consider it merely a concession. As for intelligence! Another round. 0 Satellites of Learning for here may be seen and heard the class with the highest degree of intelligence in the psychology test than any class for the past three years. Wie shall not discuss the merit of these tests-every man may have his own opinion ffsuffice it to say that we are mentally criterions of the school. Advice freely given on request:W0ffice hours 8 P.hI.ff+l G.lNI. Upon the publication of the Dean's list Q7 of our class were mentioned for scholastic standing. The rest of us were playing marbles at the time and forgot to stand. Hence or otherwiseffto the contrary not with standing. g In the Spring of 1928 suddenly inspired we organized. What to do? Why on with the dance! So the Hotel Somerset echoed to the lilt of our laughter. or what have you, while we held our first dancef-The Freshman Dance. VVhat a class!! VVe just canlt help it! Came the dawn of the Sophomore Year! Poor Freshmen! We lured them to Nickerson Field all unsuspecting since the field had never been used for such a frolic, and in vengeance for the mistake of our youth we rode 'the incoming class far and hard, and proved our metalffsounds like the lron Horse. But being generous we demanded no more than we had intended. Save your applause! YVe had run short of ideas. Our 27 men sat down on us -VVeren't we crushed! However we wish to say seriously that the class of 1931 feels proud to be a. member of the great family of Boston Ifniversity and we pledge ourselves to do all in our power to make a name worthy of her. YVe hope to end our career even as we did not start it, with the crown of success. fVVe're sure to be crownedfwe pray for the successlb ,+S1T'3ig '7ifegf'YQ,mX ,--gs ff ' 'vw ,f as .sf .-i.. ,., i . 1, ,gk , 84 i . has .
