Infantry Unit l1as continued its course of instruction with many special features and added attractions. A greater activity has been marked in its divisions. Products of this unit are the rifle team, the band, the special platoon, and indirectly, Scabbard and Blade. R. O. T. U. DRILL PLATOON Une of the most interesting li. U. T. C. activities during the past year has been the Drill Platoon, composed of specially selected freshmen. most of whom have had previous military experience. By intensive drill and special leadership training, these men are being qualified to be non-commissioned officers in their sophomore year. Each member of the platoon has had practice in giving commands. and has lzeen given an opportunity to act as platoon leader. On November ll, the Drill Platoon received the highest praise from General Logan for its splendid appearance in the Armistice Day Parade. An exhibition by the Drill Platoon featured the National Guard Training School Dance at the Hotel Somerset on December 1, and the R. 0. T. C. Ball at the Hotel Brunswick on January ll. .Xs this article goes to press. the Platoon is busy preparing for the .Xmerican Legion Ball on .Xpril 18. when platoons representing the Naval Reserve. Marine Forps Reserve, National Guard, and R. O. T. if will compete for a silver trophy.
