It won only four of the 13 scheduled contests. However, the disastrous season was no fault of the coach. It seemed as though B. If and Misfortune were running a race. with Misfortune in the lead most of the time. She surely proved anything but a lady to B. lf. The story of the basketball team is one of injuries. scholastic difficulties and mid-year graduations. it the start of the year lfarlson saw that he was about to have a tough time. He did not have a tall candidate for the team and thus B. ll. went , through the season without a tall centre. Al Spitzer, although not a giant in stature. was given the berth. He apparently Q was succeeding when he discovered that he could take his degree in January and Q forthwith left the squad. Kenneth Young was given the job next but was felled by l A the mid-year examination jinks. Brainard Nims was converted from a star forward 5 to centre and carried on as best he could. However, centre was not the only berth which felt the clammy hand of Misfortune. Both forward positions and one guard 2 berth also felt the darnpness of her clutch. ln fact, the only player to start the season i as a regular and finish the year at his own berth was Vapt. Pete Soutiere. Bob Berry and Nims were picked by Karlson as the first-string forwards. Three games. and Berry went to the hospital with water on the knee. Nims was hastily converted to , centre following Spitzer's graduation and Young's Q ineligibility. Crawford was Soutiere's running mate at guard, until the examination period, and. he too, l look the route which many others have taken before T him. .
