It was an outgrowth of the National Organization of the Commons Flulm, which was founded at Wesleyan University in lliddletown, Connecticut, in 1899 and had grown to national scope including chapters at many universities. Nvhen the 'Greek Letter' fraternities hecame so prevalent. the Fommons Vlub disbanded and the chapters at Connecticut, New Hampshire. and Vermont hecame mother chapters of the present Phi B111 Delta. Since that time the fraternity has grown to the present enrollment of fourteen chapters distributed over the country. Extension work was conducted on a modest ' and rigid scale. Nu Zeta chapter at Boston lf. was granted its charter inApril 1927. Previous to its installation, Nu Zeta was known as Delta C'hi Omega which was founded at F. 13.
