Basketball Team defeated Dor- chester and Boston College High School, and in doing so showed good in- dications for a winning team next year, Several sophomores on the Varsity squad show definite promise. This was the storting line up: Paulding, Lumley, Bissett, J. Hicks, Quinn, and S. Washington. Capable reserves were Bennett, MacKillop, R. Johnson, and J. Wood. Stanley Washington, our sophomore guard, won a place on the City All Stars, the only sophomore in the league to do so. Smith, Lottman, Short, Parris, M Iler Mr Lloyd Third row: Fraia, Clarke, Bento, Downing Collier Searcy, Burgo, John, Winn IUC Although our indoor track season did not open too well in our cone tests at the Y.M.C A, the 3 A A.. and the State Meets, much improvement TNGS shown later ln the dual meets we did very well, winning them all and giving se- curing for ourselves a tie for Division Championship. Our wins were these: over Hyde Park, i20 to 72, over East Boston, 109 l-2 to 95 l-2, over South Boston, l08 to 89 T100 over Dorchester, l28 to 7l The spirit of our boys was superb The Co-Captains were Harrell, Jim Younger, and Peter Long of out' door track. We had rnany good track men: E. Bowen, 220, Abbott, 600, Jim Younger, 300, Hector, -440, Coleman, hurdles, Harrell, hurdles and o00, and Long, a consistent winner in the mile. The Class A relay placed second in the Regimentals, a close roce all the way. This team was composed of the following: Younger, Hector, Ab- bott and Harrell. We hope for more victories in our outdoor season The Class B relay team. which placed third in the same meet, was made up of Coleman, Moore, Booker and Bowen re, Downing, Coleman, Bowen Harrell, Abbott, Hector, J Younge
