5m,zr,1l English was a maior subiect in the list of our academic studies In our classes we had grammar and spelling reading and vocabulary work as well as oral ond written composition We learned to read intelligently and to listen carefully We learned to write accurately and to express our thoughts clearly We gained the ability to stand up and present our ideas from habits of correct reasoning that the more exact we were in writing the more clearly we could think We finally mastered the essentials of the principles of good English We know now that our study of English provided a good foundation for a su cessful life It helped us to grow up intellectually and to arrive at o better understanding of ourselves and our fellow citizens Language is Most Important V convincingly. flass in American History gfisforq ln the tour year course in history which we study in this school, the topics include geography, local government, business forms, general history and economics-all with the principal emphasis on the United States- that we as citizens of this great republic shall know and understand our heritage, and that we shall oppreciate the advantages to us in a system based on the rights ofthe individual. During our study we examine particu- larly that greatest of political documents, The Constitution of the United States of America.
