Painting and decorating, while they may not do that, do correct minor faults, or, if there is no fault, add beauty to that which is originally good. We of the painting department are taught to do both. At first, we learn to re-hnish old furniture, to paint signs, and then to apply original covering to the excellent products of other shops of this school which require the painter's art. Interior maintenance is not neglected. At the same time, we are taught the principles of color mixing, color harmony, and the application of them, not only to furniture but to interior and exterior finishing. We also have a shop in which paper hanging is taught. In all this work we have the advantages ofthe use of spray guns, and we are introduced to the latest developments in paint products: plastic, rubber base, and casein paints. We learn the principles of iob estimation and costs. When we graduate, we are ready to go into the paint- ing trade and have the ability to venture, after a time, into a business of our own, Ceiling Work Ott Staging Custom Finishing on Furniture
