To do our work well, we have to know the proper use of such things as the T square, protractors, triangles, and French curves. In addition we must learn about gears, threads, and the assembly details demanded by the other trades. In other words, our trade is somewhat connected with all trades, and we must and do acquire some familiarity with them. For that reason, we also learn the making and reading of blueprints. Ours is the trade that binds all trades together. We of the drafting depart- ment know that our services will be in demand in many fields, and for this we are happy. Later we learn boarding, shingling, porch and roof construction, window and door framing, cornice work and some interior finish. We also learn the reading of blueprints and building plans. Our shop also maintains student crews for minor maintenance within the building. As a result of this training, when we graduate we should be skilled crafts- men capable ot handling ony of the usual carpentry work either with or without the aid of machinery. We believe that Boston Trade High School is one of the best in training boys to fill these positions in industry with cohdence in their knowledge of the subject. The courses in the Electrical Department of our school give the fund- amentals and operations of the types of motors, light wiring, bell wiring, and different types of meters. In our early years we learn light wiring and bell wiring. ln our later years, under the supervision of our troined instructors, we learn the different types of motors and their construction. We learn how to use many kinds of meters and equipment in A.C. work and in elementary electronics, a branch of higher electricity, and gain pratical experience in electrical maintenance ond repair, As graduating students we have a strong respect and liking for our trade, and a firm confidence in our ability to pursue it competently. lt is no wonder then that the Electrical Department is one of the largest and most popular in the school, Juniors Testing Motor Generator Circuits 'Seniors Work on a Problem For The 3 Wire Circuit
