So it is with us of the cabinet shop, but it is even more. It is our chosen life work with which we are well pleased. Our shop is divided into two parts: the bench room ond the mill, ln the former we learn the safe and efficient use of the hand tools, and the proper care of them. We also learn the design, making, and assembly of furniture, and the various ioints needed in that assembly. We acquire skill in ornamental carving too. In the mill we leorn the parts, operation, and skillful and safe use of power machinery. Thus we learn both custom and mass production of furniture, so that we may work successfully in a shop of our own or in some larger enterprise. Repairing Windsor Chair Upkeep of Circular Saw

Here at Boston Trade High School we attempt to train such mechonics, either for general or specific automotive work. For that reason our shop is divided into three: the body, the mechanical, and the electrical shop. All boys must pass through all three, the younger boys dealing with simpler operations and as their skill indicates, progressing to more complicated jobs. Through this three way division our boys learn to handle any ordinary automotive iob which would come into a general repair shop, and they, if especially in- clined, and usually are, well trained to serve the public in common auto- mobile troubles, and their nation and themselves if the occasion should demand.
