We would like to show you the spirit that made the raggedy old place ours. It was not just a building to us. We filled it with our laughter, tears, joys and triumphs. To those who only viewed the outside, we would like to give you the chance to see just who and what made it so precious to us. Thank you for the memories. An Old Road Ends.... WE aaa ore Days Gone By. I sae When We came in as freshmen. We had freshman orientation. Mr. Lane had more hair. We had movies in the auditorium. We tried to get to class on time. Mrs. Chestnut had her baby. New Edition came to Tech. Mr. Belle came back to us. We used to sneak in through the custodian’s door. We used to sneak out through the custodian’s door. Mr. Lane first got his walkie-talkie. The mice would beat you to class. Mr. Willis blew up the classroom. Lane, Headmaster MESSAGE TO THE GRADUATING CLASS OF 1988 from CHRISTOPHER P. LANE, HEADMASTER Dear Graduate, As a member of the Boston Technical High School Class of ’88 you deserve special credit and praise. Certainly you have earned your diploma through long years of hard work and many many hours of toil. With the assistance and support of family and friends, of faculty, and first and foremost, your own efforts and initiatives, today you are counted among the graduates of one of Boston’s finest examination schools. You have every reason to be proud of that accomplishment. Tomorrow brings another day. As we travel the road of life often times there are many twists and turns, bumps and detours, that we sometimes don’t expect. Usually they slow us down, but they don’t stop us. Just as you have not been stopped in achieving graduation and your diploma, do not be stopped in traveling the road of life. Use all your knowledge and strength to achieve your goals and objectives. Set high standards for yourself. You can reach them. Think back, look back down the road of your years as a student of Boston Technical. In retrospect, I’m sure that many of those bumps and detours don’t seem as important or significant now because you were successful, and I’m equally sure you will be successful in the future. Travel your new road with good health and good fortune. Use all your education, skills and talents as a vehicle for success. Remember, as with any vehicle, your vehicle needs to be renewed and updated; it needs to be kept in good repair and good condition. You must continue to do the things necessary to get the newest and best vehicle for you. I’m sure you can and you will. Your school and its faculty stand behind you and wish you the very best for your future. Sincerely, be al phe me hristopHer P. Headmaster A NEW ROAD BEGINS .. .. My team mates were terrific, and the bench was very sup- portive. This was the first time in my four years at Boston Tech, that we, The Girls Bas- ketball Team, went as far as the State Tour- nament. It was a won- derful experience. But most of all, it was an honor to be the captain of a winning team!
