These athletes have inspired much school spirit. The leadership OUD, See ae senior athletes have given is tremendous. Our athletes ae ty quality, dignity and class. The fall brought the first rush of seniors tO the athletic figid. The Crew team, with outstanding leadership from their senior captain, Chris Rizzo and coached by Mr. Martell, placed second in the city. The seniors, Chris Rizzo and Chris O'Conner, gave their team excellent ex- amples to follow. The girls creaw.tean vith Barbara Richaics as ‘their captain, followed the boys by finishing . ie season in excell«nt style. The Cross-Country team, with leadership provided by senior co-captain Tony DaRocha and Haseib Hosein, finished second in the city. Although the team members suffered many injuries, the combined erfort of all members during the City Championship allowed the team to place second. The seniors of the Cross-Country team will always remember the enthusiasm and spirit that inspired them to emerge victoriously in two previous city championships. It was these two city championships that the team was given immense guidance and direction from their coach, Mr. Farrell. The Football team, with leadership from a few seniors such as co- captain Wendell Saunders and Arthur Somerville and coached by Mr. Dilorenzo, completed the season with a 5 win and 4 loss season. Once the sophomores and juniors gained more experience, the team was able to defeat a strong East Boston team by a wide margin. ‘They then proceeded to defeat English, 7 to 6, and gained an exciting victory over Malden Catholic with a score of 16 to 15.
