Dedication Dr. Frank L. Alciere Attended Boston College, on full scholarships, 1915 to 1918. Attached to Scientific Laboratories, Boston Navy Yard, as Laboratory Aide, Electrical Laboratorian, and Metallurgist from 1918 to 1921. Recalled for special investigations during the summers of 1944 and 1945. Taught Biology at the Somerville High School from 1926 to 1931. Faculty Manager of Athletics there from 1928 to 1931. Teacher of Sciences at the Roxbury Memorial High Schools for Boys and Girls from 1931 to 1959; Chairman of Science Depts. from 1946 to 1959. Chairman of the Science Department, Boston Technical High School, 1959 to date. University Extension Instructor from 1937 to date; gave courses in the Sciences, Education, and Psychology. As Correspondence Instructor WROTE courses in Biology, Biology for Teachers, Educational and Social Biology, college grade, College Botany, Mental Hygiene, college grade, Chemistry, and revised others. Earned following degrees: A.B., magna cum laude, Tufts, 1922; A.M., Tufts, on a fellowship; Ed.M., Boston Teachers’ College, 1938; Doctor of Science, Calvin Coolidge College, 1952. Completed courses at Harvard, M.I.T., B.U., B.C., graduate school, and Northeastern. Taught Biology at Suffolk College of Liberal Arts, part time, 1933-36. Taught many courses at Calvin Coolidge College from 1949 to 1956. Courses in the Sciences, Education, and Psychology. A. Chesley York Teaching Fellow, 1949 to 1952; full Professor, 1952 to 1956. Visiting Lecturer in Psychology, Biology, and Education at the following institutions of higher learning: Cardinal Cushing College, Queen of Apostles College and Seminary, Dedham, and Stonehill College. Science Editor of the ‘‘Italian News’’ for many years. Excerpts from three graduate dissertations appeared in this weekly for years. Awarded the ‘‘Genus Ausonia’’ by the ‘‘Italian News”. Awarded the ‘‘Jewish Advocate Carnation’. Chosen TEACHER OF THE WEEK by the Massachusetts Department of Education and WBZ-TV. For several years Educational Consultant, The Mary Brooks School, Marlborough Street, Boston, Massachusetts. Member Boston High School Science Council; Boston School Science Association. 31
