L. to R., Lester Williams, Peter Lee, Richard DaForno, Laurence Clancy. For the past few years we have toiled to cross many bridges and actually have been a part of Boston Technical High. Technical now will always be a part of us. The climax of our short four year endeavor is upon us. As we pass through these hallowed corridors for the last time as students, we shall each go our separate ways. Whether it beinstitutes of higher learning or various vocations, we are indebted to Technical High for our unique preparation for such a highly complex world. Counselled and examined by the dedicated and able faculty we have gained much knowledge and developed character. We of the Technician staff, under the assistance and competent direction of Mr. Patrick J. Foley, hope that this yearbook will reflect many happy memories in future years.

Be Generous and Merciful . . . How can I get the deepest, fullest and richest measure of happiness out of my life is a question that sometime or other every thinking person poses to himself. Money, fame, glory, power, judged by the lessons ofhistory, w ould seem to be the most intensely desired prizes of vast num- bers of yearning mortals. Does the achieving of one, or all, of the dazzling prizes of life enable one to capture the elusive phantom — happiness? Is any degree of steady and long lasting contentment possible in a world where wars and rumors of wars hang over the heads of all like the fabled sword of Damocles ? What answers to the above challenging queries do prophets, saints, philosophers, scientists and men of wis- dom give us? A reasonable amount of steady happiness appears to be possible of attainment (at least most of the time) if you strive strongly for justice for all, (that means you fight constantly on the side of God) be generous and merciful, learn how to keep your body and mind healthy and strong by doing what medical scientists and religious teachers advise us to do, and then (this last is so hard but not impossible to implement) find some life work that brings joy and satisfies your deepest aspirations.
