My Sincere Good Wishes .. . TOPTTE, CLASSSOF 1965.0 I am delighted that the editors of the yearbook have seen fit to dedicate the 1965 Technician to me. I do not know why I have been singled out for this dis- tinction, unless it is that the passing years have made me the longest serving member of the faculty of this school; but whatever the reason, I am greatly pleased that I have been honored in this way. From my pleasant association with many of you in the classroom and out, I am inclined to believe that this year’s graduating class is, on the whole, as fine a body of young men as can be found in any high school, and I am confi- dent that most, if not all of you, will put to good use the valuable education that you have received here and thus bring credit to yourselves and honor to your alma mater. To all of you I extend my sincere good wishes for your success and happiness in the years to come. Joseph Moran

Mr. Joseph Moran Dedication Mr. Joseph Moran received his A.B. degree from Boston College with the class of 1920. Then, after studying at St. John’s Seminary in Brighton for one year, and working as a substitute teacher in the Boston Public Schools for another, he returned to Boston College to obtain a Masters degree in Education which he received in 1923. In September of 1923 Mr. Moran began his distinguished teaching career at the Emerson Junior High School in his native East Boston. Since that time he has rendered outstanding service to the school as well as making a significant contribution to the teaching of English. Moreover, he was the founder and first director of the Mechanic Arts yearbook. He also served as literary adviser of the Artisan for twelve years. Over the years Mr. Moran has taken graduate courses at Boston College, Boston University, and Boston Teachers’ College. He is a member of the Boston College Alumni Association, the Catholic Alumni Sodality, and the National Council of Teachers of English. To you Mr. Moran we wish you continued good health and fortune. We sincerely hope that you will be with us for many more years in the capacity of outstanding English teacher, good friend, and close adviser.
