During the academic year four FORUMS are held under the expert guidance of Mr. Edward Golden of the English Department. Some of the more significant topics discussed in the Assembly Hall were “Radio- active Fallout in the Western Hemisphere,” “Federal Aid to Education,” and “The United States and the European Common Market.” These FORUMS provide valuable oratorical experience for the students and, in addition, provide the student body with extensive information on key issues of national importance. Moreover, this training in Public Speaking takes on even deeper meaning in these days when radio and TV plays a larger part in our daily lives than ever before. With an ever-increasing number of motor vehicles on our highways, it is evident that the PRE-DRIVING CLUB is of the utmost importance. Under the leader- ship of Mr. Gable, Mr. Mistler, and Mr. Broderick, many members of the student body learn about the technical nature of the automobile as well as such essentials of good driving as courtesy, rules of the road, and the importance of proper attitude while driving. This background information, though theo- retical, proves invaluable for students who hope to acquire a driver's license. Above all each member learns that safety pays and that a trained driver is a good driver. MOLALLA PTET Third Row: Kodinski, Jones, Biagi, Fagan, Ufland, Rovner, Tarushka, Bain. ? bes = g € The GLEE CLUB with its golden-throated warblers of song, fills the Assembly Hall with interest and de- light whenever the student body and the faculty is fortunate enough to hear them. At Christmas time, during the Easter season, and on other special occa- sions, the voices of the GLEE CLUB reverberate throughout the school. Directed by the dynamic Mr. Shapiro, this group never fails to bring great joy to its audiences. In addition to ensemble singing, the boys are encouraged to develop solo techniques. Especially pleasing to audiences during the past year were vocal selections which were marked by a wide degree of variety. And the versatility of the “junior chrooners” was equal to the task!
