The dazzling, intricate maneuvers of the TRICK DRILL TEAM can be seen at major assemblies and in practice sessions before and after school. Under the very competent direction of Mr. John O’Bryant, a former military drill instructor, the Team also serves as Honor Guard to visiting celebrities, and as colorful ushers at Home and School Association meetings. At various times demonstrations are held at the Armory and at the Boston Garden. Enlistment is voluntary and students spend many of their free hours perfecting the precision-like techniques that have made them so famous. Drilled intensively, they would bring pride and joy to all military officers.

% In 1948 the DRAFTING STANDARDS CLUB was formed in order to acquaint students with drafting techniques that go beyond the range of the high school curriculum. In addition, the club gathers together the numerous techniques of drafting which become a valuable supplement to the drafting courses. Under the skillful direction of Mr. Carpenito many of our alumni go on to become draftsmen, technicians, and engineers. Students learn the complex nature of form, proportion, and structural relationships while diligent- ly exploring new ways in which drafting may be re- lated to the modern world. Needless to say, DRAFT- ING STANDARDS is one of the most popular activi- ties in the school. ‘ . Drafting Sede Third Row: Dingwell, Peluso, Bertolino. With an ever-increasing number of motor vehicles on our highways, it is evident that the PRE-DRIVING CLUB is of the utmost importance. Under the leader- ship of Mr. Gable, Mr. Mistler, and Mr. Broderick, many members of the student body learn about the technical nature of the automobile as well as such essentials of good driving as courtesy, rules of the road, and the importance of proper attitude while driving. This background information, though theo- retical, proves invaluable for students who hope to acquire a driver's license. Above all each member learns that safety pays and that a trained driver is a good driver. MOLALLA PTET Third Row: Kodinski, Jones, Biagi, Fagan, Ufland, Rovner, Tarushka, Bain.
