The CHESS CLUB, led by Mr. Gordon, carries the honor of the school into the field of the “Game of Kings.” Having many talented members, the team has become one of the best in the city. They have defeated many nearby schoolboy clubs, a factor attesting to their remarkable skill. It is one of the oldest clubs in the school and requires a great deal of concentration and an analytical mind. Some of the more prominent members during the past year were Warren Green, Richard Quinn, and Guitaris Karosas. Next year the team hopes to capitalize upon several budding cham- pions and, as a result, will continue to maintain its superior standing in schoolboy competition. TR alll 1 ; i) ee ee One of the most unusual, yet highly skilled groups at Technical High is the CERAMICS AND POTTERY CLUB. Under the artistic supervision of Mr. Ralph Rosenthal, this activity has become one of the most popular in the school. In this club members gain éx- perience and are introduced to new art forms in the creation of mosaics and ceramic sculpture. Moreover, members are instructed in the secrets of moulding clay and the making of glaze. The skills acquired in this club often become the means whereby students go on to become successful skilled artisans in fields that are becoming increasingly popular.
