erro Good Wishes eo 8 To the Class of 1956: The decision of the Editors of the 1956 Yearbook to dedicate that vol- ume to me has provided a most pleasant note on which to take my leave of Boston Technical High School. If it is proper to interpret that dedication as a mark of esteem, then I must admit to a sense of deep gratification. As a teacher, however, I find even more satisfying the implication that my two decades at Technical High have not been without their usefulness. The passing years have confirmed me in my conviction that Boston Technical High School need bow to none in the opportunities it offers to willing students. It is my earnest hope that the Class of 1956 will justify that confidence through its performance in tomorrow’s world. To all its members I extend warmest good wishes for a full, a rich, and a rewarding future.

David “e I oenrrerrced) Mr. Rosengard, a graduate of English High School and Harvard University, has taught mathematics at Technical High School for nineteen years. In those nineteen years he has done more than just teach mathematics. He has en- deavored to instill in his pupils a thorough understanding of the subject rather than merely a mechanical knowledge. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to have had the opportunity of studying under him know this to be true. As Senior Class Adviser Mr. Rosengard has counselled thousands of boys, giving unsparingly of his talents. A man of magnetic personality, zealous in all his undertakings, amiable, yet firm, Mr. Rosengard was one of the finest math- ematics teachers in all New England. At the beginning of the school year Mr. Rosengard was promoted to the position of Head of the Mathematics De- partment at Roxbury Memorial High School. We, the Class of 1956, wish Mr. Rosengard many successful years in his new position. 8
