Excellent library facilities, a modern and spacious cafeteria, and appropriate con- venient student offices will be available by September, 1975. Students who have suffered from the inadequacy of present physical facilities deserve a loud vote of thanks for making the best of difficult circumstances. If the future space for student needs is better at Boston State College, and I know it will be, the added dividend will be made possible by the present student body. Effective student participation in college life is not guaranteed by space alone, but reasonable elbow room provides at least a minimum condition. If a solution to the parking prob- lem could accom pany the completion of the new Tower Building, it would be too good to be true; moreover, it would eliminate the creative agony and work of a future student generation. I am personally grateful for the cooperation of the present Senior Class of Boston State College. Kermit C. Morrissey President Boston State College After four years at Boston State College it has become evident to me that students can effect dramatic change. The Student Government Association has evolved over the years through changes made necessary by the envi- ronment created for us by the institutions. We have seen our roles transcending concern solely with social activities of parochial nature to a point where our involvement now encompasses the universal plight of the student to gain acceptance and recognition. This participation should project him as a viable contributing member of the academic community, not merely a recipient of academic knowledge. Much wasted concern and effort is lavished on what the Student Government Association should do for a particular student rather than the total impact the Student Government Association could have as a collective unit. Irregardless of the structure the Student Government Association assumes, its basic strength should be consid- ered as a vehicle through which students may be heard collectively and recognized. Our duty now is to seek out and accomplish the goals set four years ago. Nonetheless we should not escape our past as students in a struggling society. Our dedications should be to equality in every facet of our lives. Michael Saraceno President Boston State College Student Government Association Dean John }. Kelly, Jr. The good that men do is often forgotten after they are gone. On our own private way, the memory of Dean Kelly will continue to represent the ideals of Boston State College. So much has happened in the past four years, revolving around us, possibly changing our lives in some way or another. It was once said, we ' ve become a part of all that we have met. For some of us, it is true— we have been caught up in the political times whether in the politics themselves, or the behind-the-scenes atmosphere which keeps our changes hidden. We have seen many changes at State, from the revision of registration, to the addition of specialized courses, to the dismissal of faculty members. Who is to say which was a bad change, and which was a change for the better? Only the future can decide. So, as we look back on our years at Boston State, we should be thankful for the firm foundations for the future we ' ve received from those dedicated to the rewarding task of education. Remember too, the friendships we ' ve made, and possibly lost, for they too, have made a change in our lives. Look not upon your days at State with malice discontent or hatred, for you ' ve gotten from Boston State only that which you have put into it. Our future has only just begun— And we may never pass this way again.
