In bitter debate, cries of more arms, fewer arms; more bombs, no bombs; stay, get out . . . have pierced America ' s complacency. Every thinking adult has an opinion, should have an opinion. But we do not take this time to discuss the right or wrong of those opinions. We choose rather to honor those who, had they not shouldered a rifle, would have been our classmates. To that aim we dedicate Lampas 1967 to all United States servicemen now serving in Vietnam. This gesture will not make dying in a jungle any less terrifying, nor will it make living with the threat of death more pleasant, but perhaps, when tomorrow comes, word will reach them of what we have done here and they will understand it to be our way of saying — Your place in line will be held. You have been in all ways an exceptional group. Your scholarship has been outstanding; your loy- alty ever firm; and your co-operation whole- hearted. I believe that your careers will bring great credit to your loved ones and yourselves, to the community , and to Boston State. During your undergraduate years, the College has continued its phenomenal growth. The stu- dent body, the faculty, and the physical plant have expanded rapidly. With this in mind, the clubs and other various organizations on campus strive to present realistic, informative, and contemporary programs that attempt to improve as well as entertain participants. In this respect, an invaluable precedent has been set. Clubs continue to present constructive programs highlighted by speakers of recognized stature and by enthusiastic student support.
