In bitter debate, cries of more arms, fewer arms; more bombs, no bombs; stay, get out . . . have pierced America ' s complacency. Every thinking adult has an opinion, should have an opinion. But we do not take this time to discuss the right or wrong of those opinions. We choose rather to honor those who, had they not shouldered a rifle, would have been our classmates. To that aim we dedicate Lampas 1967 to all United States servicemen now serving in Vietnam. This gesture will not make dying in a jungle any less terrifying, nor will it make living with the threat of death more pleasant, but perhaps, when tomorrow comes, word will reach them of what we have done here and they will understand it to be our way of saying — Your place in line will be held. You are now and will always be, a part of the Class of 1967. msm •X 3Qp!-X-X ' X X !« WHS - ' •i3HCr- •X ' KywC :•:•«« l Hz s ss ss ■:2 Hfiv ' •••381 ■xxSM-s Be n W§§ 2s8S SSS3S38I |§ i ite ||x Xy II {•; lH £x :■ $ SxraH 1 I 1 |8g| r r H I am pleased to give warmest congratulations to you, the Class of 1967, upon the completion of your four years at the State College at Boston. You have been in all ways an exceptional group. Your scholarship has been outstanding; your loy- alty ever firm; and your co-operation whole- hearted. I believe that your careers will bring great credit to your loved ones and yourselves, to the community , and to Boston State. During your undergraduate years, the College has continued its phenomenal growth. The stu- dent body, the faculty, and the physical plant have expanded rapidly. My hope is that you will take an active part in our future development by supporting your Alumni Association as fully as you can. May God grant you an abundance of success and happiness. William F. In this respect, an invaluable precedent has been set. Clubs continue to present constructive programs highlighted by speakers of recognized stature and by enthusiastic student support. But on any team there are certain key players who deserve special recognition. The Lampas team is no exception. I know that you will join with me in thanking — Joseph Donovan — our delightfully sincere Wm. J. Keller Inc. representa- tive. Camille Johnson — Vantine ' s patient college liaison. Dr. William Kenney — our understanding, optimistic, downright adorable ad- visor. Dr. William Looney — our generous benefactor. Vincent DePaul O ' Brien — our imaginative Photography Editor, whose work and direction spark Lampas 1967. John Tieso — an underclassman whose business sense made this pub- lication possible.
