Dedicated to . . He was only with us for twenty-one years, but in that short time, he made his presence felt. Andrew P. Puopolo, who died tragically, left a mark for all to see. school basketball game - just warming up. Coach,” he would say. Because of his outstanding scholastic and athletic achievements at BLS, he was admitted to Harvard, where he continued his academic and athletic excellence. Medical school was to be his next step. Andy deeply and openly loved his parents, sister and brother. His family came first - they were very close. He loved people. At Latin School he would take time out from a busy schedule to tutor younger students. He was so vibrant and active, so energetic and full of life. His life was remarkable, constantly studying, playing sports, being with his family - never a wasted moment. Andy was a coach ' s dream. He was eager, totally dedicated and always in tremendous physical condition. He was a complete individual as he was highly developed in body, mind, and spirit. Andy ' s excellence at Boston Latin School will serve as a guide to other students. His achievements will act as a goal for future students to try to attain. A scholarship has been formed in Andy ' s name and will be awarded annually to that Boston Latin Stu- dent who best exemplifies Andy ' s performance. Andrew Puopolo was a winner in life and he left life a winner. He accomplished: he achieved; he succeeded. There is no question this procedure would have continued if he lived longer. He would have been such a credit to society. Andy has toiled long and arduously in the vineyard. Now heaven shall be his reward. Andy was a perfect example of the Latin School concept of work plus desire equals success. He came to Latin School from the North End and through hard work and dedication, he graduated 7th in a class of 239. He was Vice-President of his class and was a three year athlete, playing football, basketball, and baseball. Andy was chosen for the Scholar- Athlete Award his Senior year. He was extraordinary. He intercepted four passes in one game playing with a broken wrist as Latin defeated New Bedford. He was selected Eastern Massachusetts Player of the Week for that performance. He would run nine miles prior to playing a high by Coach Costello 4

In Remembrance of . . . In his many years as a teacher at the Latin School, Mr, Jameson did much more than teach us Latin and Greek. Thanks to his fine acting skills, we were able to see the anger of Achilles and the slyness of Sinon come to life in the classroom. None of his students could ever think of Latin as a dead language.. His style of teaching was unique. After gaining recognition for his work on stage and in radio, Mr. Jameson came to teach at the Latin School. It was at this time that he performed his most miraculous feat. Every year, he transformed young Latin School boys into Shakespearean actors. He also continued performing in radio commercials, where his many characters were loved by us all. While at the Latin School, he earned the respect of every- one fortunate enough to know him. Last year he decided to retire from teaching. Latin and Greek will never be the same without him. This however, is not a time for sadness. We will always cherish our memories of Mr. Jameson, and are happy for the people who will now have a chance to know him. We wish Mr. Jameson success, health, and happiness in all future endeavors. . . . Constantine George Pappas Jameson 3
