FDWARD FDDIF MARTIN Ed dld not profess to be able to run fast or far but he could throw the shot fast and far almost as fast and far as he could throw runners durlng the football season He used the football team merely as a trallllllg for the shot put Maybe that was why the foe dld not rehsh bemg tackled by h1m Not a champ Ed conslstently garnered polnts for the Maroon and Gold team so that no meet went by but that he brought home at least one pomt for the team So long Ed contlnue your work and the tltle wlll be yours GEORGE ONEY ONEIL And a mighty man was he George the kmg of Boston s schoolboy shotputters Semor was hls first year of competltlon When first he trled to wreck the cellmg of the gym he tossed the plll forty feet Every day then for a week he added a couple of lnches to hls mark until they had to put hlm out of doors to practlce to save the celllng and Hoor above the gym In every meet he came home first What a star he w1ll be for any college ln this w1ll surely brlng him renown ALBERT AL OSHEA It IS told that at one lnterscholastlc meet a group of the leadmg' dash men ln the clty re kmg vshat O Shea of BC Hlgh looked hke Thls was after he had beaten them ln the race One sa1d D1d you see that palr of splkes way ahead of you?
