THE FORBIAN Allan McCarthy 12 Madison Street . Revere l Sodality 12, 3, 45 K. B. S. 13, 41 Just Allan! Allan-quiet, reserved, unassertiveg and yet somehow, one senses that down beneath l1is cl-oak of modesty there are latent powers----the talents of a leader Born to lead but content to follow seems to tit him. He has such an appealing smile-one that seems to grip to hold youg and o11e canit merely know Allan without. feeling that he is a true friend. He has always stood out like a rock of common sense amo-ng his somewhat boisterous fellowsg he is the one redeeming quiet boy in our noisy class. Invariably the class begins with his recitation and needless to say, the day has always had an auspicious beginning. Here we make a prophecy: someday, something or somebody, will in some way, somehow, get under Allan's skin and then all the pent up sinouldering fires in that mighty frame -of his will break forth to rock the world. We'1'e rooting for you Allan-go to it.

THE FORBIAN Henry M, Leen I 89 Bowdoin Avenue Dorchester Sodality Cl, 2, 3, 49 K. B. S. 43, 49 Campion C39 McElroy Prize Debate C29 Bapst Prize Debate 13, 49 9 Intersch-olastic Debate C49 Elocution C49 Bapst Vice-President C49 uluigfa ulienar Henry is a born debater. He can convince you of both sides of an argument and tl1en prove that he is wrong. He ran t11e poor Judge ragged. But Henry did not restrain his debating propensities to the class-rooin alone. He stepped out one day, joined the Bapst, astounded its almost iniperturbable members and was chosen to lead tl1e public debating team. He talks a good deal, we must admit, but seldom of himself, rather he extolled the virtues and valors of his side-kick, Bill. He has always been an honor man and a leader, both figura- tively and literally in our original class.. He is an author of merit. But Henry's voice and stage presence are his chief assets. His elo- quent flow of diction, confident ease and clear thinking render him the model debater and elocutionist. For he seems to put his Whole heart and soul into his work. That is the secret of his success. Keep up the good work, Henry, we've placed our bets on you.
