THE FORBIAN Charles La France 461 Columbia Road Dorchester S-odality 145 K. B. S. Q43 Class Beadle C45 Dramatics C43 Bapst Q43 Kid Magnavox from K. D. K. A., Pittsburg, blew intoiour midst like one of his fair cit.y's smoke clouds. Before tl1e dust had cleared from his eyes he found himself a 11l91'llb9'I' of the famed 4B. He promptly set out to explain the Why and wherefore of it all to the class. And what a roar issues from that dimuntive form of his. Shrieking shrapnel-roaring Etna-a, cage full of Bengal tigers would all sound like a. 11lOf-11QT',S crooning lullaby when Charlie gets into action. Roger, as he is frequently addressed, much to his own dis- gust, though a. late arrival, nevertheless immediately entered the schol- astic activities. The Bapst Society cringed at the thunder of his powerful voice, the dramatic society paid homage to his ability as a Thespian. If ever you should see a green streak burning up the Dorchester roads, seemingly without a. driver, it is -only the sporty Chandler piloted by that speed demon, Charlie, our boy. Be that as it may we will always miss the cheerful, if loud voice, of our little friend from Pittsburgh, Charles Roger LaFrance, tl1a.nk you.

THE FORBIAN Francis L. Kennedy 31 Lyon Street Dorchester Sodality Cl, 2, 3, 47 - K. B. S. C3, 41 Orchestra 13, 45 Kreisler, HKen I If ever this fellow awa.kes to- his responsibilities he will become a' good student. Oh yes? He has been slipping latelyg actually went under 95 in some subject, we donit remember which, if any. For he is John Homer himself and he knows more about Catiline tha.n did our friend Cicero. And then his fiddle! What 21 haunting melody he played! The High School Orchestra. quickly signed him up. A b-oy of facetious wit and brilliant satire he was as he admits always stringing someone. And no one ever knew it, he was so clever at it. He was a demon at skirting the ends in footballg and broke up many a baseball game with timely clouts. So we have heard! But all joking aside Frank is a real pal-we really enjoy his company 5 he has been a joy in our years 'of high school life. VVe feel sure that we are going to miss himg but- whoever he joins later in life will certainly be gaining a loyal comrade and friend.

THE FORBIAN Henry M, Leen I 89 Bowdoin Avenue Dorchester Sodality Cl, 2, 3, 49 K. B. S. 43, 49 Campion C39 McElroy Prize Debate C29 Bapst Prize Debate 13, 49 9 Intersch-olastic Debate C49 Elocution C49 Bapst Vice-President C49 uluigfa ulienar Henry is a born debater. He can convince you of both sides of an argument and tl1en prove that he is wrong. He ran t11e poor Judge ragged. But Henry did not restrain his debating propensities to the class-rooin alone. He stepped out one day, joined the Bapst, astounded its almost iniperturbable members and was chosen to lead tl1e public debating team. He talks a good deal, we must admit, but seldom of himself, rather he extolled the virtues and valors of his side-kick, Bill. He has always been an honor man and a leader, both figura- tively and literally in our original class.. He is an author of merit. But Henry's voice and stage presence are his chief assets. His elo- quent flow of diction, confident ease and clear thinking render him the model debater and elocutionist. For he seems to put his Whole heart and soul into his work. That is the secret of his success. Keep up the good work, Henry, we've placed our bets on you.
