Leo Club Buckles U I g'Buckle up for Safetyn week, spon- sored by the Leo Club, helped students get in the habit of wearing their seat belts. Club members stood at the campus entrance and checked to see if drivers and passengers were wearing seatbelts. Those who were obeying this new law were given a piece of gum. Plans were made to place a Buckle Up sign at the end of the stadium as a reminder of the safety law. The major charity project of this year's club was the Eye Bank Telethon, sponsored by the Lion,s ' Club. Members donated hours answering the phones and taking pledges. Leo Club members Baxter Earp and Charles Donges said, It was a lot of work, but we had fun. Stuco Develops Leadership bilities Behind closed doors Bossier High School student council brainstormed to come up with new and exciting spirited activities for the 1986-87 school year. Their ad- visors Mr. Dominic Salinas and Mrs. Barbara Robson helped make all the activities possible. Coor- dinating a beauty pageant, a Sadie Hawkins Dance, a faculty breakfast and participating in SASH, and the Red Cross blood drive provided many oppor- tunities for STUCO members to develop leadership abilities. In the fall they selected Freshman Of- ficers, built a float, had a motherfdaughter luncheon for the homecoming court, a pep rally s presentation, and a homecoming dance. STUCO also conducted elections for campus favorites at Bossier High School and class of- ficers for the following year.
