In addition to these activities they also had some fund raisers including a bake sale and the sale of spirit items. Even with their busy schedules they still managed to achieve their main goal of promoting a better understanding of French customs, people, and language. .OJ Club advisor, Mrs. Judy Anderson, said, the French Club proved to be a .,,, worthwhile experience for most ofthe members this year. l' li FBLA Develops Business and Civic Leaders The purpose of the Future Business Leaders of America was to develop in today's students the qualities of business and civic leadership. The members met monthly under the guidance of Miss Phyllis Backa and Mrs. Monty McKenzie. Throughout the year they attended several rallies for competition. The District rally was held in February at Louisiana State University at Shreveport. The winners of the District rally were qualified to attend the State Rally in Baton Rouge. Known as the best Y-Teens club in Bossier City for the last five years, they were led by president Kristi Darden and advisor Mrs. Jamie Harris. On their agenda for the 1986-87 school year was having a party for a large day care center, supplying food for needy families on Thanksgiving and Christmas, and entertaining elderly people at a local nursing home. The Y-Teens also gave parties for the Northwest State School and the Shriner,s Children Hospital.
