l' li FBLA Develops Business and Civic Leaders The purpose of the Future Business Leaders of America was to develop in today's students the qualities of business and civic leadership. The members met monthly under the guidance of Miss Phyllis Backa and Mrs. Monty McKenzie. Throughout the year they attended several rallies for competition. The District rally was held in February at Louisiana State University at Shreveport. The winners of the District rally were qualified to attend the State Rally in Baton Rouge. Singers Display Abilit Through Performances Members of the BHS Choir had a difficult task in front of them as they set out to top last yearls per- formance where superior ratings were received at every competi- tion. This year posed new problems for the choir director, Mr. Milton Nix, because of schedule problems, the Showchoir was spread throughout several classes and did not get to meet daily as a group. With the help of officers President Gavi Peka, Vice-President Bett Lincecum, Treasurer Keri Smit, and Secretary David Hoskins, M Nix and his choir were able to sl goals and work toward achievii another year of excellence. In addition to these activities they also had some fund raisers including a bake sale and the sale of spirit items.
