SKILLS FOR HIRE DECA SES: Those Airline Boys think they are fine but tonight they are gonna lose for the very first time. This sign was placed in the hall by BHS DECA students who found time in their busy schedule to promote school spirit. The life of DE students got hectic at times as they attended school in the morning, worked on theirjobs in the afternoon, and did their homework at night. President Kelly Hendon said, The idea of balancing school and a job was easy to adapt to, although the hours did cut into my social cl-7 life at times, DECA had several areas of competition for students such as apparel and accessories, advertising, general marketing, general mer- chandise, and food marketing. They com- peted in District and State events. Other ac- Q1 .y tivities for the year included a trip to New York for an officer training conference and production of a twelve minute film which helped to explain duties of service and ways ofdeveloping leadership abilities. Distributive Education Clubs of America have helped to develop many ofthe leaders in Marketing and Distribution. As a result, businesses have been provided with more cmployable and productive workers. DECA officers for this year arc Kelly Hendon - ' ' ,.. ss.. ., President, Kate Simonelli - Vice President, Kristi K Darden - Secretary.
