Exchange Club Finishes Second Year The Junior Exchange Club was established last year and is one of the only girls's club at Bossier High School. Only an elite group of girls were chosen. The requirements for membership were good grades and leader- ship abilities. The purpose of the club was to provide an opportunity for young adults to work together in service to their school and community. The club was involved in various projects -- Q! for the school. They participated in 1986 homecoming festivities by electing three beaus to represent their club. The beau, as well as the maids, rode in the homecoming parade. One of the club's goals for the year was to raise enough money to have an end of the year dance. Throughout the school year the club grew in importance and interest. The 1986-87 officers are seated around a ,V table planning their fund raising dance. J-. .... at Experience . The Best Teacher Tonya Kerry, Stacy Watson, Karen Giovengo LaNell Lee, Melissa Bates Officers plan for the Annual COE Banquet. Cooperative Office Education students held down jobs in addition to their schoolwork and their activities. Some worked in banks, insurance companies or at a hospital. Others gained their office experience working as a legal secretary, or as a clerical assistant for local businesses. Most students loved theirjobs. B.H.S. - Bound For Broadway Due to malfunction of their stereo system, the Bearkat Babes were not able to perform at the Bossier-Northwood game held in Bearkat stadium on September 26, 1986. The following Monday in Miss Gray's 2nd hour Drama Class, Charles Donges, Harlan Hughes and Baxter Earp came up with Plays, monologues, skits and makeup ran through the heads of the drama club members as they prepared their shows for the season. The Drama Club presented an opportunity for students to leam about the many aspects of live theater. The club produced their own solution - A home made sound system. several plays for the public this year. They also visited area theaters where they saw live productions. Guest speakers spoke to the club on topics such as acting and makeup. The Drama Club sponsored fund-raising activities throughout the year. The money was used to produce plays and buy materials needed by the drama classes. Acting as officers are Tammy Jameson - Pres., Miss Gray - sponsor, Charlotte Henson - Vice Pres., Jeanine Case - Treasurer, Lisa Chandler - Business Manager, and Mandy Prestidge - Secretary. ' .
