GLEE CLUB '- sz. The Bossier High School Glee Club has come tar T this year under the direction ot Harold H. Bamsey. The ensemble, consisting ot eighty-tive persons, made their tirst appearance in tull dress in a joint concert with the band on the night ot December 22nd at the high school auditorium. On March 5th the group attended the district tese tival at Northwestern College under Class B and received a superior rating on the three numbers they were allowed to sing. This entitled them to go to the State Festival at Louisiana Tech on March 26th, Here they received a superior rating again. We are proud ot the recognition our Glee Club has received and are looking torward to greater things in the iuture. Walton scored three times while Yarbrough scored twice. Grosiean and Finley each scored once for the Kats. The only score Minden made was by lrby. CaptainfBugs Walker. North Louisiana Playoff lt was the Bossier Kats all the way from the start to the finish of this contest. The enraged Kats, led by Yarbrough, who scored three times, and Walton, who tallied once, trounc- ed the East District Champs 25-6. Torbet scored for Ruston. This was the Kats' second North Louisiana title in three years. Captain of this thrilling contest was Iarvis Cfiddens. State Playoff As a fitting climax for the dedication year for our Memorial Stadium the Kats met and defeated the Reserve Wildcats 2l-O for the State Class A Championship. Playing in the sea of mud they hit pay dirt first in the second quarter when Montalbano raced off tackle for 55 yards. ln the third quarter Wal- ton scored on a line plunge, and Woodall on a pass from Mcl-lalffey. This ended the scoring. A Kat drive was halted on the Re- serve 2O-yard line in the fourth quarter. This was the first championship since l942. Gene Yarbrough was captain for this game.
