IOOI9 IZIZT 262-3730 Office of Ihe President Dear 1978 Graduates: The years during which you attended BMCC have been turbulent ones for the College, and I am certain that you have seen that turmoil as one more obstacle which you have had to overcome in your quest for education. That you have sucessfully completed your course of study is a testimony to your fortitude and to your ability. To achieve a goal easily often makes that goal seem to be of less value than you originally anticipated, to achieve a goal with difficulty and tribulation tests your own individual strength and makes that achievement all the more valuable to you. You have been tested in an academic crucible and you have had to struggle with count- less obstacles. You should now know you have the ability to suc- ceed and have the strength to work towards and achieve a goal. This strength will last you throughout your lives and will assist you to become successful in whatever endeavor that you choose to embark upon. This year, your honors convocation and your commencement were special occasions. I hope you, as I, will treasure the memo- ries of these occasions and that you will look back upon your ex- perience at BMCC as having been a fruitful and productive one which has given you the necessary foundation to succeed.
