The Big Bear was immovable in the Bulldog forward wall and also played very good on offense. He has lettered two years and plans to go to Colorado Univer- sity. fl ' Below: BOB WEST Sophomore , weighs 162 pounds and plays at a tackle position in the Bulldog forward wall. Bob has the size and speed to become a great ball player. Below: EARL EARNEST Junior, one year letterman playing center. Earl played an awfully lot of defense this year as his 180 pound frame held the opposition the meager gains. m j0 j Above: DONN LAKE Sophomore, weighs 148 pounds. Donnie plays end for the Bulldogs and this is his first year on the A team. He played Freshman football last year Bulldog halfback Gerald Dalton makes an attempt to complete a pass from the arm of Bob Page during the Abilene game. i Gary ' Monster Br a den misses a field goal attempt during the Pampa game which the Bull- dogs won by a score of 12 to 6. Above: CHARLES FOREMAN Senior, one year letterman, weighs 155 pounds, plays half- back. Although hampered by a pre-season accident, Charles proved to be a great competi- tor. Below: DAN ZACHRY Junior, weighs 168 pounds, plays guard and is a one year letterman. ' Zach ' putin some fine defensive plays for his first year on the Bulldog ' s A team. Great things are expected of Dan next year as a possible starter. • II Below: JERRY TAYLOR Senior, weighs 155 pounds and plays at a guard posi- tion, Jerry played con- sistently well all year as he made the circle of two year lettermen. He was a good hustler. El don Wetsel pulls down an unidentified player in the annual homecoming game at Bulldog Stadium against a strong Pampa club. Below: GARY MORRISON Sophomore, weighs 160 pounds and plays center. The lack of experience didn ' t stop ' Bullet ' in his first year as a pigskin letterman for Borger. He is a possible starter next year. Below: BOB PAGE Junior, 160 pound quarterback. This is Bob ' s first year as a Bulldog starter and he made a great showing, especially in the Northeast game when he scored four touchdowns. He has lettered two years. 1 ' ■t: ■ r Above: CHARLES HOOD Senior, weighs 174 pounds and plays tackle. Charles was one of the ' big ' boys in the Bull- dog forward wall. He is a two year letterman and has the potential for a real good col- lege player. I Below: ROBERT HEGDAL Junior, a two year letterman and weighs 170 pounds. ' Butch ' started for the Bulldogs at an end position and did a great job on defense. Hegdal will be good material for a college player in a couple of years. Below: LARRY CLEMISHIRE Senior, weighs 205 pounds. ' Tiny ' displayed hard, rough, but clean football. He is a three year letterman and plays tackle. Above: DON CHAMBLESS Junior, a one year letterman and plays a halfback position for the Bulldogs. Don was a great defensive back for his 136pounds, He was also good on punt returns. He will help the squad next year as a probable starter. Bob Page, Borger quarter- back, goes over for one of his four touchdowns as they racked unscored on Northeast High of Oklahoma City, 33 to 12. Above: RONNIE JACKSON Senior, weighs 160 pounds, plays at a guard position. This has been Ronnie ' s sec- ond year as a Bulldog letter- manand he rightly deserved it for his great spirit and hustle. Although small, a s linemen go, he nnade up for it with his determination to play. Below: JERRY ARGOVITZ Senior, weighs 160 pounds, quarterback. Jerry alter- nated with Bob Page at the quarterback slot and proved he had quite a throwing arm as he carried home his sec- ond letter as a Borger back. Below: HAROLD SMITH Sophomore, weighs 196 pounds. Harold, though lacking in experience this year, will be a big help to the ' dogs ' next year. He plays tackle and this is his first year to letter. 1 An unidentified San Angelo back is trapped as he ad- vances to the Borger goal line. No. 7 1 is Larry Clemi- shire of Borger. Eldon Wetsel makes a larger gain on a pass from the arni of Bob Page against the state champion Abilene Eagles. k Above: RONNIE WEBB Junior, weighs 148 pounds and plays guard. This is Ronnie ' s first year to letter and he has rightly deserved the honor. Webb is a possi- ble starter for next year. Below: EUGENE RICHMOND Senior, weighs 155 pounds. The fleet little halfback filled in very nicely for the injured Johnny Hadley. In fact, he did so well, he was named player of the week. He made many fine runs to earn this title and a Borger letter. Below: CHARLES HENSON Junior, weighs 154 pounds. Charles played good defensive ball and also some offensive ball at the end position. Big things are expected of him next year. He has lettered one year. Below: ANDREW HUTCHENS Junior, plays tackle and weighs, 176 pounds. Big things are ex- pected of Andy next year when he should be at his high school peak. He is a one year letter- man. Below: JOHNNY HADLEY Senior, weighs 165 pounds and plays fullback. ' Red has played great ball this year despite numerous injuries. He has lettered two years and started both years. rr I Monterey watches helplessly as a very strong Borger squad makes one of the several ex- tra point trys in a very im- pressive Bulldog victory. Above: MELVIN GRANT Junior, weighs 153 pounds and plays end. Melvin should hit his stride next year and is a possible starter. He is a one year letterman. Below: GERALD DALTON Senior, weighs 136 pounds and plays halfback. The speedy little scatbackmade many brilliant kickoff and punt returns. Gerald has lettered one year and rightly deserves a Bulldog letter. Below: WAYNE TEDDER Senior, weighs 136 pounds and plays quarterback. Wayne plays one of the best defensive backs that Bor- ger has seen in a long time. He also was a good passer and has lettered one year. if JlOW- Above: ED GUTHRIE Junior, plays end and weighs 148 pound s.
