L-.L he Us g has DOROTHY MORRIS Perky Morris, as she is called by her friends, has been in everything from the Personality Club and Home Ec Club to the Reading-for-Funners -a songstress for the choral club one year-a swell gal with a tine sense ci humor. I-IERMAN NOBLES Red Nobles-so-called for his cop- per-colored hair-is definitely an as- set to Berger I-Iigh-an active par- ticipant in athletics-a nice guy to be around and a pleasure to work with-noble, like his name. IOHN L. PERRY Entering at mid-term, Mr. Perry's past record has not been discovered except that he was sports editor of the annual at Lubbock-a very jolly person with a smiling disposi- tion. LILLIAN NIX Farmer Nix is a newcomer, but she has had no trouble in acquir- ing a host of friends-we discovered that she has played basketball two years, and that her dramatic abil- ity is unlimited-this year she is the efficient manager oi the Red Birds and president ot the lr. Historians- an important addition to BHS and one Farmer who is really going to town. ALICE O'DELL Studicus Sally O'Dell has the rep- utation oi being our most honest paper-grader-a member ot the pep squad for iour years-a squad leader last season--in the Drama- tics Club in Freshman and Senior years-efficient member of the ICL last year. lIMMY PHILLIPS Chesty Phillips is the tall, blond, and handsome boy who played the bass saxophone in the band lor three years-capable president of the Dramatic Club-dashing young hero of The Lady Elects -elected to Nl-IS in his Iunior year, and mem- ber of the Who's Who. Nice guy. ROY RAGLAND This handsome young man is Big Rugged, the high-jumping champ ot Borger High-he brought back first rate bacon from Cap Rock re- lays in '40-hobbies are tennis and football-has been a member oi the Hi-Y, Industrial Arts, and Science Clubs. gi.. h A STEVE RAGAR H9'S 1119 GUY with the magnani- mous personality-the intriguing gent who caused the extra heart beats as Teddy in Over the Rain- bow -our super-super NHS prexy '-fil'Si PIGCS winer of Latin I con- IGSY-Gneffletic treasurer of the Ir. RAYMOND MAYS Mouse, the lady killer, likes dance ing and girls-his favorite hobby is telling yarns and racing Buicks-he has become indispensable to the band-is really a swell guy when you get to know him-Do you know him? LORENE YOUNG Our Pee Wee takes in cr variety of pastimes while going through school-enjoys skating immensely did her part of yelling in the pep squad this year-she gets along with everyone, and especially with the teachers-cz hard worker who deserved her share of the praise. O. worker here -a former member of the student council, and president of her home rooms for three consecutive years- Too bad she was here for only a year.

U CHARLES RENICK Tootin' a horn is Charles Renick's speciality-a first division rating at State contest for his comet Solo is one oi his most important ac- complishments. However, Charles is not onevtracked and often during his spare time, he is found with the boxing gloves on, trying to master this sport as he has his comet. C11 7 Ni.. , :RM .K EDNA RHODES Another bookeworm is Eddie -- she loves books-has been a mem' ber oi the Home Economics Club for three years, in one of which she kept order as parliarnentarian -last year she acted as a big sis- ter to some Fish -let's have more of Eddie. IUANITA RICHARDS Nita Just adores collecting these little miniature dogs--she has ai collection that will make your eyes pop out-is a great asset to the Popular Songs Club--ana, believe it or not, her favorite subfect is English-she eats it morning, noon, and night. WILBURN ROBBlNS Cowboy is a genuine Westerner -he shoots with the best of 'em, and he really brings in the game- when he's not out hunting he finds time to play football and take part in the Dramatic Club-Borger Hi needs more of his type. 'X TW LA RICH Our true Southern belle loves to read and has belonged to the Home Economics for three years lshe can boil a terrific pan of waterl-tor her utter relaxation she sings in the Choral Club. lOE CHARLES ROBERTS Ioe Charles, better known as bird, was that much envied Duke who escorted the Duchess of l939- 4O. ln his quiet likable way, he became an indispensable player on the football team-well admit hes one in a rnillion.' OTTO SAMPLE Romeo is our hero-our Dr. l. O. --our Uncle Sam, and a package of dynamite all in one leo-neg package -surreptitiously stole the show as Figlitin' Bill Iohnsorr' in the Lady Electsw-our breathtaking hero oi Over the Rainbow -- Cousin Archie of Eight Cousins -a hard working Spaniard-but most of all, he's the heart throb ot all the girls. if 1. -C Q., Qu 1 , wb' ,, SCO'I'l' SCHMALHORST This loguacious gent, known as Scotty to his friends, has shown his ability for speaking by winning second at district in externp--lead- ing character in Eight Cousins and .business manager of Lady Elects -secretary-treasurer of Soph- omore class and able president of Iunior class-though it is a secret and not to be known, Scotty is a Wi1lkie-man. y x 51 fm . Q- 1:-+ LEONARD SHIPMAN Four successful years in the band seem to show that this dignified young gentleman must have un- canny musical talents. The reward for the determination shown in school and extra-curricular activi- ties was that he became a mem- ber of the NHS. Q
