EDITH lONES Using a highly cultured voice and a friendly smile as a rarnrod this hazel- eyed beauty has captured a l1on's share of the popularity of our school. X THEODORE GIKAS Little black-haired Teddy Gikas is our peppy drummer-boy-out standing member of the Band Club for four years-takes after Brother Johnny when tt comes to doing the goose step -besides being the sweetheart of all the freshman girls. QS' IAMES GOODWIN The glamour boy of the Diversified Occupation Class is now at your disposal. Blond, and blue-eyed Iames finds time enough from his part time occupation to make a vast supply of friends. BERTIA MAE IONES Here is Mickey whom, although she has attended other schools, we consider a part of BHS-when she is not collecting souvenirs of dif- ferent cities and towns, you might find her tuning up for her part in making our choral club outstanding -she has a world of friends, and a great personality. PATSY HASSELFIELD Pat not only adds to the scenery of the school with her story book looks, but also does her bit in her own quiet way to make our school more worth while -- the popular sophomore candidate for queen- president of the Home Ec Club- secretary-treasurer of the commer- cial club--and a prize member of the lr. Historians. MANN GREGG ln this corner we have the Mann who was in the district play and thus helped make the play place third - his laughable way has gained for him a host of friends. ALMA HARRIS Sneaky makes a hobby out of getting new friends-she is easily recognized by her red, red hair. Not only did she take top honors in the Latin essay contest, but also deserves praise for her part in the pep squad-found chemistry a wel- come pastime during this year. MAB EL HATCHER Mabel is a Sonja Henie on wheels, had rather skate than eat, has cheered those Bulldogs on for two years - secretary of Ir. Historian Club in '38-'39, Big Sister Club and debater in 1938-39. 'X '15 ur- Q. . 7' 'Uh LYLE HESS Heel, as he's called around school, is best known as the spir- ited pep leader he's proved to be -for two years he was active in the Latin Club, not to mention his time on the Growl staff-twice Vice President of the pep squad club-an always jolly good fel- low. Nu. fx- ns-X IAMES HOLCOMB Iames, in his position as president of his home room, has proved that his personality is the kind that cre- ates an attraction for friends-he very cleverly portrayed the Span- ish priest in the 39-40 Spanish play -took second place in the Latin contest held here and then did a first class lOb in the Latin play- did his part to make the Iunlor- Senior banquet play a success.
