Outstanding accomplishments were the rule as the Varsity BraVes ran to a record of 74 wins against 30 losses and the l LRAC trophy. Proclaimed by coach Charles Jackson as the best running duo in BHS history Dave McKinley and Shawn Ooley paced the Braves in invitationals and conference meets. The,Braves defeated such teams as Salem, Austin. Providence. North Harrison, and Silver Creek in the 18 team North Har'risoanvitational to finish second. The Braves finished first of 8 teams in the Clarksville Invitational: fifth of 10 teams in the .New Albany Invitational: second of 14 teams in the Paloi Invitational: and second of 9 teams in the New Washington Invitational. The Braves defeated 4 teams to win the LRAC and placed second of 6 teams in the SAC. In sectional action the Brayes ran twelfth of 26 teams. Senior. 'four-year letterman. Dave McKinley was All-Invitational at North Harrison, Clarksville. New Albany. Paoli. and $ New Washington. He finished first of 93 runners at the Paoli Invitational and first of 62 at New Washington. He also was second straight year and tenth of 169 in the sectional at Columbus North. He was All-Sectional and was the first BHS runner in history to qualify for the Regional at Bloomington. Senior Shawn Ooley established himself as the most dedicated CC runner. tallying over 2000 miles. Shawn is a three-year letter winner and was All-Invitational at North Harrison. Clarksville. New Albany. Paoli. and New Washington. All-Conference in both LRAC and SAC for the second straight year. Four-year letterman Senior Terry Lamb was All-Invitational at Clarksville and All-Conference in the LRAC and SAC for the third straight year. Also lost to graduation is senior Mike Glover. Number four runner Junior Eric Herzog was All-Conference in the LRAC. Returning with Eric next year will be Junior James Jackson. Sophomore David Rice, and Sophomore Steve Klein. 5 20
