James Jackson scored 21 and Jerry Fordyce 19 in rolling up the 92 point record. The second game of the year was a come-from-behind 62-61 double overtime victory over Tunnelton. Boyd Wright was the leading point-getter with 21. The Berries won their first SMAC contest with a thrilling 59-57 win over Medora. James Jackson scored the winning basket with seven seconds to go for an individual total of 19. Jerry Fordyce added 1'7 for the Berries. Coach Porter's boys extended their win stretch to four with an easy 81-55 win over Patriot, as Terry Smith poured in 24 points. Victory No. 5 came at the expense of Lexington. James Jackson scored 20 and Boyd Wright 17 in the 79-50 victory. The big game of the year saw the Berries scoring a 60-57 win over arch-rival Pekin Eastern.
