The 100 members of the a cappella choir gave fall, winter, and spring concerts. The mixed choir sang in the same performances. Touring Moscow and other Northern Idaho points, the a cappella choir pres- ented several spring concerts. They earned money for the trip by painting addresses on curbs for local citizens. They also participated in an exchange concert with Capital high school. The swing choir performed at many functions to raise money for the Reno Jazz Festival which members attended in mid-March. The choir presented several mini assemblies, including some in the outdoor spring sunshine. Editors Rita Owings and Paul Wheelwright, and associate editor Rosemary Lilly are enthusiastic as they edit Borah s newspaper the Senator Senator staff alters format, lIlt6I'VlCWS candldates Counting ballots for the Senator mock election are journalists Don Coberly, Rory Jones, Robyn Shore, Karen Warner, adviser Mrs. Bue, and Jerry Morton. Elected were Nixon and local Republicans. Borah's Senator staff achieved added recognition this year for fine efforts in newspaper production. In addition to gaining the All-American Newspaper Award for the seventh consecutive year, the staff captured numerous awards in State competitive contests. Senator Editors Rita Owings and Paula Wheelwright, and associate editor Rosemary Lilly with the help of the staff and Mrs. Marge Bue, adviser, revised the format of the paper for a new look. New practices include publication of more eight-page papers, more in-depth features, and a new head for the front page. Staff members interviewed leading national and state political figures, among them Senator Edward Kennedy, Dr. Benjamin Spock, William Bud Davis, and Jim McClure.
