'NM' Forensic teams practice debates in classg C. Beaver, B. Berlin, A. Brock, L. Knutsen, C. Thomas, S. Bengochia, D. Graham, and M. Hobbs, The American Field Service Club, advised by Mr. Bender, hiked bleachers, fought cold weather, and sold to crowds at football games to collect money to help foreign exchange students. Chris- tine Kae from Stuttgart, Germany, spent her senior year at Borah. Striving to achieve better understand- ing among varying cultures, and helping young people from other countries to adjust to a different environment were the chief goals. Other projects included giving dinners, selling candy, sponsor- ing dances and bottle drives. Debating about the responsibilities for financing education kept the Forensic Club active. Members participated in both local and state tournaments, travelling away from home usually with Boise and Capital. Quill and Scroll, composed of news- paper and yearbook staff members, sold oranges and candles to provide money for a trip to Portland to attend the National Scholastic Press Association Conference in Portland. Mrs. Bue and Mrs. Gundersen advised the club and accompanied the members to Portland. FORENSIC CLUB: Mr. Bender, adviserg Berlin, presidentg Beaver, vice-presidentg Knutsen, treasurer Brock, representative. SECOND: Howells, Day, Thomas, Hobb, Graham.
