The Borah Drill Team, Flag Corps, and Twirlers remained one of ldaho's all around favorites under the polished leader- ship of Mr. James Perkins. The Lionettes made an impressive appearance at each home football and basketball game of the season for the halftime shows, as well as performing for assemblies. They performed together in perfect unity in competition at the Mini-Dome in Pocatello. The Flag Corps whose 1972-73 theme was Flag On and the Twirlers whose sparkling pre- cision while marching down the field helped contribute to the First Place trophy won in Band Competition, The Drill Team and Flag Corps could also be seen parad- ing in form at the Idaho State Fair in late August. One new twirler joined the group of three during the first semester. Barbara Samualson, a transfer student from Boise High School, joined them. Shewey, Allen, Stokes, Ganz, Nelson, and Zillner. The Boran Lionettes show off their skill after long hours of practice while performing during of the many football games at Bronco Stadium.

G.A.A., under the guidance of Miss Foss, accomplished more than ever before in 1972-1973. This was the first year that the Borah Girls' Athletic Association was in a League and was able to host other schools. Some of the activities that were included were: Cross Country, volleyball, softball, gymnastics, and basketball. A swim meet was also something new and exciting on the agenda. R.O.T.C., under command of Ser- geant Meyers, presented the colors at home games, and in the Fairyland Parade. They conducted rifle matches with the other Boise Schools. One tradition which was carried out again was the orientation of freshmen at the various junior high schools in Boise. ln the spring, the R.O.T.C. took a one week field trip to Fort Lewis, Washington, which proved to be very exciting for all. Pamela Beem and sophomore LuAnn Stith are preparing tor a field hockey match against on other Boise leagues, GAA conducted many field hockey meets this season. tw! t. V, ,.,,Al . V, 6
