Steve Symms, successful candidate for the United States House of Repre- sentatives, urged the students to help keep government simple by taking a bite out of it. His opponent, Ed Williams, opted for adequate funds for education. Newcomer to Borah, Mr. Donald Buf- weIl,Iteam taught the pilot American Studies program with Mrs. Margaret Ward. The course afforded sophomores an in-depth humanistic approach to understanding their country. Mrs. Deanne Crawfordf another new Borah teacher, combined talents to teach government and English.
