Borah teachers, counselors, and administrators under the leader- ship of William Jameson, principal, implemented the humanistic pro- gram which aims to recognize each person as an individual. Students were encouraged to select courses which would enable them to succeed. Many new choices became possible for Eng- lish students who could enroll in Debate, Journalistic Writing, Speech, and Drama V in addition to regular English classes for credit in English. The new mini courses in English gave sophomores ten choices and the new two-hour per day Ameri- can Studies team-taught program gave them an opportunity for more in depth experience. Future plans include revising Social Studies and Biology courses to make more selections available. One hundred students enrolled in a community sponsored career education program which helped them to learn on the job or in career oriented situations.
