Gross finished third in the state meet as the Lions made their best finish ever in the competi- tion. Only one class A team, Blackfoot, was never beaten by the Lion cross country team in competition this year. Posting a 9-6 record through the first week of February, the cub cagers relied on rebounding and inside shooting to defeat many tough oppo- nents in close contests. The Lions took deci- sions from teams such as Boise, Minico, Moun- tain Home, and Idaho Falls. Dave Teeter, Mark McKibben, Dave Cutler, and Tom Randall provided much of the scoring for Coach Jim Garrett's sophomores.
