'M 1- 'ri-is uf' I af' CROSS COUNTRY FRONT Robbins Manwill Kadl Hanson Gross Burress Laythe Stanfield Packham Hawkins BACK Moos Beauclaire Moreland Williams Graham Perot Harvey Jones Neville Morton Barclay Stapp and Coach Furman The most successful season in Borah cross country history was completed this year as the team led by standout runners Buch Gross and Tony Laythe raced to a first place in the district meet and third in the state meet They also fin :shed second in the city meet losing by only one point to Capital' John Stanfield Ron Burress and Lane Man will also provided good efforts in several meets as did Mark Kadl and Jerry Hanson. Gross finished third in the state meet as the Lions made their best finish ever in the competi- tion. Only one class A team, Blackfoot, was never beaten by the Lion cross country team in competition this year. Posting a 9-6 record through the first week of February, the cub cagers relied on rebounding and inside shooting to defeat many tough oppo- nents in close contests. The Lions took deci- sions from teams such as Boise, Minico, Moun- tain Home, and Idaho Falls. Dave Teeter, Mark McKibben, Dave Cutler, and Tom Randall provided much of the scoring for Coach Jim Garrett's sophomores.
